01
History & legacy
The house, its origin.
The Zuccardi family arrived in Mendoza from Italy in the 1950s. Don Alberto Zuccardi founded the winery in 1963, originally in Maipú. His son José Alberto took the brand international with a modern vision. Sebastián Zuccardi, the third generation, marks the turning point: in 2016 he opened the Piedra Infinita complex in Vista Flores and launched the Concreto range, wines vinified in concrete eggs without oak, redefining contemporary Argentine Malbec.

Terroir & vineyards
The place makes the wine.
Piedra Infinita is in Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley, at 1,100 metres. The soils are alluvial with limestone stones and pockets of sand. The microclimate is extreme: temperature swings of up to 25°C and dry Andean winds. Sebastián Zuccardi describes the place as "the perfect laboratory" for making pure Malbec, with nothing dressed up. Each parcel is vinified separately in the Aluvional range to show the individual soil.

03
Architecture & visit
The space where it happens.
The Piedra Infinita building, designed with local architects, was chosen three times as World's Best Vineyard by The World's 50 Best (2019, 2020 and 2023). It's a brutalist construction of concrete and stone quarried from the site itself. The barrel room sinks underground with natural light from above. The Piedra Infinita Cocina restaurant, led by chef Juan Manuel Barberis, is one of the best winery restaurants in the country.

Recognition
Awards & reviews.
Zuccardi Valle de Uco was chosen World's Best Vineyard in 2019, 2020 and 2023 by The World's 50 Best Vineyards, the only Argentine case with that distinction three times. Its Aluvional and Finca Piedra Infinita wines appear recurrently in international Top 100 lists. Sebastián Zuccardi was named Winemaker of the Year by Tim Atkin MW in 2018.
Frequently asked
Before you go.
Where exactly is Zuccardi Valle de Uco?
In Paraje Altamira, in the San Carlos district. It's 1 hour 30 minutes from downtown Mendoza, via Tunuyán. There's another Zuccardi in Maipú (Santa Julia), but the iconic one is Vista Flores in the Uco Valley.
Is lunch at Piedra Infinita Cocina worth it?
Absolutely. It's one of the most photographed lunches in Argentine wine tourism. Fire cooking, local ingredients and a direct view of the Andes. We recommend booking well ahead.
Can it be done as a day trip from Mendoza?
Yes. It's 1 hour 30 minutes each way. Vito Wine Tours builds full-day itineraries with a visit to Zuccardi, another Uco Valley winery and lunch, returning between 7 and 8 in the evening.
What's special about the concrete eggs?
Sebastián Zuccardi uses concrete ovoids instead of oak barrels to vinify the Concreto range. This preserves the fruit purity of the Malbec without adding oak aromas, showing the terroir unfiltered.
Is there accommodation near Zuccardi?
Yes. The Vines Resort & Spa, Casa de Uco, La Morada and Auberge du Vin are boutique hotels of the highest level less than 30 minutes from the winery. Vito Wine Tours can arrange the whole stay.
