Travel guide
City, Luján or the Uco Valley? A concierge's guide to choosing your base in Mendoza.

Where you sleep in Mendoza defines how you experience it. The right hotel turns the trip from "I went to Mendoza" into "I lived Mendoza". Here's the concierge's honest map.
Mendoza offers three distinct kinds of stay: the city itself, the wine country (Luján and Chacras de Coria) and the high country (the Uco Valley). Each has its pros and cons. This guide covers the best options in each.
In downtown Mendoza — for cosmopolitan travellers
Park Hyatt Mendoza
The colonial building on Plaza Independencia. Classic elegance, the Grill Q restaurant, the spa and an unbeatable location. It's the hotel we recommend most for travellers who want the city as their base. Walking distance to dozens of restaurants, wine shops and cafés. Ideal for: cosmopolitan travellers, foodies and first-time visitors to Mendoza.
Diplomatic Hotel
Modern, well located and excellent value. Less iconic than the Park Hyatt but with the same comforts at a fraction of the price. A rooftop pool with views of the Andes. Ideal for: pragmatic travellers.
Sheraton Mendoza
Reliable international standards, a central location and large rooms. Ideal for: travellers who want the familiarity of a chain.
In the wine country — for the immersive experience
Cavas Wine Lodge (Luján de Cuyo)
A Relais & Châteaux property set among 60 acres of vineyards. Private casitas with their own plunge pools and Andes views. Probably the most romantic place to sleep in Mendoza. The restaurant is exceptional. Ideal for: honeymoons, anniversaries and travellers who prize intimacy and luxury.
The Vines Resort & Spa (Uco Valley)
A modern luxury resort in the heart of the Uco Valley. Every villa has its own pool. Francis Mallmann's Siete Fuegos restaurant is one of the most awarded dining experiences in Argentina. Ideal for: wine collectors and foodies.
Casa de Uco (Uco Valley)
A 16-room boutique hotel with an infinity pool facing the Andes. Quieter than The Vines, just as spectacular. Ideal for: couples looking for silence.
Algodón Mansion (downtown Mendoza)
A boutique mansion on a quiet city street. An excellent cellar, refined service and intimate scale. Ideal for: boutique luxury without leaving the city.
Practical advice from the concierge
If it's your first time in Mendoza: stay in the city to make transfers, restaurants and local life easier.
If you've been before, or you're focused on the Uco Valley: The Vines or Casa de Uco. Waking up in the wine country changes the whole experience.
If you combine the two: 2 or 3 nights in the city, 2 or 3 in Uco. The change of perspective is part of the trip.
